Kulmbach sausages

Ingredients

  • 125 milliliters vinegar
  • 500 milliliters water
  • 2 tablespoons mustard seeds
  • 1 tablespoon peppercorns
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 tablespoon juniper berries
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 5 large onions
  • 8 sausages (Frankfurt)

Preparation method (receipt)

Cut onions into rings, place into a pressure cooker or a pot, add the water, mustard seeds, peppercorns, bay leaf, juniper berries, sugar and salt, cook on low heat until the onions seethe. Add sausages and boil for another 20 minutes.
