Pickled herring


  • 8 pieces of fresh herring
  • salt
  • pepper
  • flour
  • 125 milliliters vegetable oil
  • 0.5 liter vegetable broth
  • 0.5 liter white wine vinegar
  • 4 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 2 tablespoons mustard seeds
  • 10 peas allspice
  • 1 tablespoon peppercorns
  • 4 onions

Preparation method (receipt)

Grate salt herring, pepper and breaded in flour. Fry the on all sides in vegetable oil for 4-5 minutes. Share on paper towels. Boil the broth with vinegar, sugar and spices. Peel and chop the onion rings and cook for 5 minutes in the marinade. Share herring in a jar, pour the hot marinade. Hide in the fridge. The dish is ready in 2-3 days.
