Pancake cake

Pancake cake is a typical dessert for Russia, where pancakes are not just cooked on holidays but are considered a ritual dish. Pancakes are made from pre-baked thin pancakes: the more layers the more nutritious. The interlaid filling may vary from juicy minced meat or fish, saturated with sauce and onions, to a sweet home confiture. The cooking method can also be different: pancake cakes are both baked in the oven and brought to the ready-to-eat state in the refrigerator.


  • Orange – 2 pcs.
  • powdered sugar – 2 tbsp
  • chocolate – 150g
  • sour cream – 200 g
  • pancakes 15 cm in diameter - 20 pcs.

Preparation method (receipt)

Bake sweet pancakes. Allow to cool. Peel oranges and remove fibers. Separate the pulp from the film with a knife. Add powdered sugar in a sour cream and whip into a fluffy mass. Finely grate chocolate and add to the sour cream. Stir gently. Coat one pancake with sour cream and chocolate. Put the second pancake over it. Spread sour cream and lay out orange slices. Continue piling the smeared pancakes in the same sequence until all the ingredients expire. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
