Onion in red wine


  • 800 grams shallots
  • 100 grams sugar
  • 800 milliliters red wine
  • 350 milliliters port wine
  • 200 grams cold butter
  • salt
  • pepper

Preparation method (receipt)

Peel shallots and cut into halves. Place sugar into a pot, melt gently, pour the red wine and port wine, stew on medium heat, remove onions from a pot, simmer the sauce by half, add the butter, salt, pepper and stir. Place onions into the sauce.
