Odenwald style homemade cheese


  • 500 grams low-fat pasty cottage cheese
  • 1 teaspoon soda
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • thyme

Preparation method (receipt)

Put the cottage cheese in linen cloth and placed in a colander to drain and squeeze in a few hours. Save serum. Mix cottage cheese dripped-off with soda, mix well and set aside for 3 hours. Put it in a pan, add oil and cook on minimum heat. Gradually add the decanted whey, stirring constantly, until the desired consistency. Put in the form, salt and sprinkle with caraway seeds, put into the refrigerator for 2 weeks.
