Crab stick salad, crab salad

Crab stick salad (crab salad) is such a simple dish that it is never made of crab meat. Its simplicity and availability is in the so-called crab sticks – surimi, that is, imitation of crab meat. The salad was invented in Soviet times, when there was an extremely poor choice of products for festive dishes. Since then, it is being prepared for holidays.


  • Crab sticks - 400 g
  • canned corn - 300 g
  • egg - 4 pcs.
  • mayonnaise - 4 tbsp.
  • fresh cucumbers - 2 medium-sized
  • pakchoi - 4 medium-size leaves
  • dill – a small bundle
  • salt – to taste
  • freshly ground black pepper – to taste

Preparation method (receipt)

Hard boil eggs, cool, peel and finely chop. Pour the corn into a colander and rinse it in cold water. Cut cucumbers and crab sticks into small cubes. Finely chop the pakchoi (Chinese cabbage). Cut the dill. Mix all the ingredients of the salad in a bowl, salt and pepper. Serve immediately.
